Problem:

Revit’s built-in curtain wall tool is limited to simple horizontal and vertical grid divisions, which lack flexibility for advanced design patterns.
Additionally, selecting sub-elements such as panels, mullions, and grids generated by the tool is cumbersome and inefficient, particularly in complex curtain wall systems.

Solution:

A custom tool is developed to provide flexible and customizable grid patterns for curtain walls based on user-defined parameters,

This solution empowers users with greater design freedom, enabling complex and irregular curtain wall configurations efficiently. It also simplifies sub-element manipulation, enhancing precision and usability for intricate façade systems.

4a__Add Curtain Wall Gridline (Whole Wall) :

1. Enter vertical and horizontal spacing intervals.
2. Press the "Run" button, then select a whole curtain wall element to start generation process.

4a__Add Curtain Wall Gridline (Individual Panel) :

1. Enter vertical and horizontal spacing intervals.
2. Press the "Run" button, then select multiple curtain panels to start generation process.

4a__Add Curtain Wall Gridline (Complex Pattern) :

1. Toggle to choose between vertical and horizontal direction as the main layout and sub layout.
2. Enter vertical and horizontal spacing intervals.
3. Press the "Run" button, then select empty curtain walls to start generation process.
4. The tool will first splits the curtain walls based on the main layout, then convert the split panels to sub curtain walls, and finally split the sub curtain walls based on the sub layout.

4b__Select CW Parts :

1. Toggle to choose the desired curtain wall part to filter.
2. Enter spacing intervals as the filtering pattern (separated by spaces)
3. Check the radio button to select the desired filtering direction and layout.
